Harmony Township School offers an inclusive Preschool program for children 3-5 years of age. Students are permitted to enter the program upon turning 3. In the inclusive classroom, typically developing preschoolers play and learn with those students with special needs. Both the morning and afternoon session provide a structured learning environment with focus on play, social skills, language development, fine/gross motor and pre-academic skills.
Our program follos the The Creative Curriculum, a New Jersey Department of Educationh Office of Early Childhood Education approved curriculum. "The Creative Curriculum" System for Preschool is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum system designed to help educators at all levels of experience plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rush program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Based on 38 objectives for development and learning that are predictive of school success and aligned with state early learning standards. The Creative Curriculum System for Preschool helps teachers ensure that they are focusing on what matters most for children at every age.
The success of our program is centered on the integrated delivery of services. The teacher is highly qualified and dually certified. In addition each session is staffed with a highly knowledgeable paraprofessional. Related services, which include a Speech/Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist, are also available if the child qualifies for a related service(s).
In order to qualify as a Preschool Student with a Disability, a child must be determined to be eligible for special education and related services according to the New Jersey's Administrative Code of Special Education. The child must be experiencing a developmental delay in one, or more of the following areas: (33% delay in one area or a 25% delay in two or more areas):
- Physical, including gross motor, fine motor and sensory (vision and hearing)
- Cognitive
- Communication
- Social and Emotional
- Adaptive
Preschool Program at HTS

The Harmony Township School Preschool program is a 5 day/week program which has 2 sessions daily. The morning session runs from 9:00-11:30am (3yo class) and the afternoon session is 12:30-3:00pm (4yo class). Delayed arrival hours are 10:40-12:25 (AM session) and 1:15-3:00 (PM session). Early dismissal hours are 9-10:30 (AM session) and 11:00-12:30 (PM session). There are preschool students with special needs and typically developing students in both the morning and afternoon classes.

The School Nurse needs the following:

- Entrance physical
- Immunization records
- Influenze vaccine documentation - preschoolers must be vaccinated if they attend public school. Vaccination is needed by December 31st of each calendar year.
