The K-8 science programs at Harmony Township School engage students in a more student-centered approach that promotes inquiry and discovery. Teachers incorporate hands-on activities that teach important concepts while while enveloping students in the problem-solving process.
Students are encouraged to observe, experiment, utilize their critical thinking skills, gather information, and discover multiple approaches to solving problems and answering questions.
Below you will find the K-8 science curriculum map, based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and 21st Century Standards. General science topics include: science practices, physical science, earth science and earth systems science.
The grade 6-8 maps were adopted by the Harmony Township Board of Education on September 19, 2016 and the K-5 maps were adopted on October 17, 2017.
